Name: Houston NF Walk
Date: September 30, 2017
Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM CDT
Event Description:
The Houston NF Walk is a fundraising event that will be held on September 30, 2017, benefitting the Children's Tumor Foundation - a charity organization that raises money to help find a cure for neurofibromatosis ("NF"). NF causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body and can lead to blindness, cancer, excruciating and debilitating pain, bone abnormalities, disfigurement, and learning disabilities. NF affects 1 in every 3,000 people - more than cystic fibrosis, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and Huntington's disease combined. In addition to benefitting those who live with NF, the research funded by the Houston NF Walk is shedding new light on several forms of cancer, brain tumors, bone abnormalities, and learning disabilities, ultimately benefitting the broader community. If you would like to learn more about NF or the Children's Tumor Foundation, please visit. www.ctf.org. With the help of generous walkers, donors, and sponsors, we have been able to raise over $75,000 in each of the Houston NF Walk's first two years. As we gear up for our third annual Houston NF Walk, we hope to raise even more money this year in the fight against NF.
